Bits of Freedom nominates ministers for Big Brother award

The digital rights group Bits of Freedom has nominated the Dutch ministers for social affairs and employment and justice, as well as the Tax Service for its Big Brother Award. The shortlist is based on an online survey. The annual prize is awarded to highlight infringements on Dutch citizens' privacy. The ministry of social affairs and employment was singled out for its SyRI system developed to link personal information in order to fight benefits fraud.
