Bittorrent good for 31% of EMEA upstream traffic in H1, YouTube tops downstream with 16%

Bittorrent websites still account for nearly 32 percent of upstream internet traffic in the EMEA region, according to the latest Internet Prenomena report from Sandvine. The figure is much lower in the Americas, at just over 9 percent, where consumers have more options to access the latest video content directly. In terms of downloads, YouTube takes the top traffic spot in the EMEA with a 16 percent share, while Netflix is first in the Americas with over 19 percent of downstream traffic.
