BlackBerry CEO backs away from sale comments

BlackBerry CEO John Chen said comments he made in an interview to Reuters were taken out of context. The article said that Chen would consider selling BlackBerry's handset business if it did not soon turn profitable. "I want to assure you that I have no intention of selling off or abandoning this business any time soon," Chen said in a follow-up statement. "Our focus today is on finding a way to make this business profitable." He added that Blackberry was "not a handset-only company" and was also investing in services such as enterprise software and messaging and M2M technologies.
