BlackBerry, Timex enter patent licence agreement

BlackBerry and Netherlands-based watchmaking company Timex entered into a patent licence agreement. The financial structure of the deal includes on-going royalty payments from Timex to BlackBerry. Additional terms of the agreement are confidential, BlackBerry said in a press release. BlackBerry's portfolio consists of approximately 40,000 worldwide patents and applications covering a wide array of technologies including wireless communications, networking infrastructure, acoustics, messaging, enterprise software, operating systems, virtualisation and cybersecurity.
