BlackBerry to drop BBM Music service

Thursday 4 April 2013 | 09:23 CET | News
BlackBerry is ending its BBM Music service from 02 June. In an email to customers, the company said April will be the last month charged for the music service, and from May songs will no longer be available. Launched in August 2011, BBM Music allowed BlackBerry users to access up to 50 songs in the cloud. The more they share the music with other BlackBerry contacts, the more music they could access over the service. News of the shutdown was first reported by the blog CrackBerry, which said RIM is offering BBM Music users a free 30-day trial to the Rdio service as an alternative.
