Blue Label expects substantial H1 loss

South Africa's Blue Label Telecoms said in a trading statement for the six months ended November 2018 that it expects to make a substantial loss, compared with the prior year. The technology group, which is the majority shareholder of Cell C, said that it expects headline earnings per share to amount to a loss of ZAR 1.88, compared with positive EPS of ZAR 1.67. EPS is expected to show a loss of up to ZAR 1.57, compared with positive EPS of ZAR 1.67. Core headline EPS is expected to show a loss of up to ZAR 1.42, compared with positive core headline EPS of ZAR 1.68 in 2017.
