BND provided NSA access to German citizens data - report

German national intelligence service BND has offered US spying agency NSA access to Germany's largest internet exchange De-Cix in Frankfurt according to German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung partnering with German public broadcasters NRD and WDR. The partnership was called Operation Eikonal (a term used in geometrical optics to describe a light ray path between the origin and destination). Earlier investigations by the newspaper and broadcasters found Operation Eikonal but the federal government claimed that data of German citizens was filtered out before NSA got the data.
