Bosnia and Herzegovina govt approves 4G licences, roaming price cut

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a decision on the introduction of 4G mobile networks. The aim is to have full 4G coverage within five years and 60 percent of the inhabited territory covered in a year. The communications regulator will issue 15-year spectrum licences to operators at a cost of BAM 17.5 million, payable in five equal installments from 2019 to 2023. 

The government also adopted a proposal to reduce the cost of mobile roaming fees in countries of the Western Balkans. Telecom operators finally agreed to implement the international agreement on the reduction of roaming prices from 1 July 2019. Roaming fees will be reduced in the first phase by 80 percent, while in 2021 they will be completely abolished in the Western Balkans.
