UK fixed wireless broadband provider Boundless Networks has deployed technology from Mimosa Networks to build its ultrafast broadband network. The Boundless network covers 5,000 square miles of Northern England, and aims to deliver fibre-fast wireless broadband to remote, low-population areas.

Boundless has deployed both point-to-multipoint MicroPoP and GigaPoP infrastructure to create the new network. This consists of Mimosa A5 access points on strategically-located village rooftops which connect to Mimosa C5 client devices on subscriber rooftops. Access Mimosa access points operate using 40 MHz, with each access point supporting around 25 subscribers.

Boundless plans to roll out the ultrafast services over the next two years across northern England, including Lancashire, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. Residential and business customers will be able to subscribe to packages with speeds of between 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps.
