Bouygues launches LTE roaming in Canada with Rogers

Thursday 21 November 2013 | 10:08 CET | News
French operator Bouygues Telecom has announced the start of LTE roaming with Canadian operator Rogers. The customers of both operators will be able to benefit from 4G mobile service when in either country. Bouygues claims to be the first French operator to have launched roaming services with a foreign operator for 4G. Describing this as just a first step, CEO Olivier Roussat said that the fact that 4G works entirely in IP led Bouygues to rethink the technical modalities for international roaming, particularly the existing interfaces between its network and those of its partners.
