Bouygues launches tri-band LTE in Lyon

French operator Bouygues Telecom has launched tri-band LTE service in Lyon, the second city after Chartres. The aggregation of 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz airwaves gives Bouygues 40 percent of spectrum for its '4G+' service. Customers using LTE category 9, such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, will benefit from more fluid browsing, HD video playback and faster downloads. Bouygues will accelerate its boosted LTE rollout in Marseille and parts of Paris metro area in the next few weeks.
