Bouygues retains lead in French LTE active cell sites

French spectrum agency ANFR reports that 33,625 cell sites were authorised for LTE as of 01 April, of which 29,247 were in service across mainland France and the overseas territories. Bouygues Telecom has remained the operator with the largest number of active LTE sites in mainland France, adding 521 during March and bringing its total to 11,642. SFR continued to strengthen its runner-up position with 11,122 sites in service (+435 from the previous month). Orange followed with 10,817 (+317), while Free Mobile's footprint reached 8,068 sites (+130).
