Bouygues Telecom covers 71% of population with LTE

French mobile operator Bouygues Telecom has updated its mobile coverage map to state that it now covers 72 percent of the population with LTE, compared to 71 percent on 11 November 2014, Echos du Net reports. The company now covers 3,001 towns and cities with LTE, up on 2,786 in November last year. Bouygues Telecom is benefiting from its network rollout over the 1800 MHz (used previously for 2G) and is continuing to deploy 800 MHz equipment, but has still not switched on all of its antennas using 2,600 MHz spectrum.
