Bouygues Telecom wants 5G auction delayed by several months

Bouygues group's CEO Martin Bouygues is urging the French government and telecom regulator Arcep to extend the delay that has led to a pause in the 5G spectrum auction, arguing that the tender process should not resume before end-2020 or early-2021. In April, Arcep confirmed that the final stage of the 5G award procedure had been postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, the regulator has pointed at two possible dates to restart proceedings (the second half of July or early September), without officially releasing a new timetable.
