Bouygues to generalise 256 QAM for LTE-A in H2 2016

French operator Bouygues Telecom has achieved over 400 Mbps speeds over Cat-11 LTE-A, a first in tests conducted with Ericsson, Netgear and Qualcomm. The record speed in France was achieved using 256 Quadrature Amplified Modulation (QAM) over 45 MHz of spectrum aggregating three frequency bands, 800 MHz, 1.8 GHz and 2.6 GHz. The technology will be generalised throughout Bouygues's network from the second half of 2016. The test used the operator's commercial network and the Netgear Aircard 810S hotpsot with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 modem built-in, and Ericsson Radio System base stations. The
