Brabant agrees EUR 35 mln loan for rural fibre roll-out

The Dutch province of North Brabant is lending EUR 35 million to the company Mabib to bring broadband to rural areas. The loan is provided by the local Breedbandfonds (Broadband Fund), administered by the Brabant Development Corporation (Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij - BOM). Mabib is the Brabant subsidiary of the Maatschappij voor Aanleg van Breedband in Nederland (Mabin), a company set up in 2014 to bring roll out fibre connections in the Netherlands. The loan will cover around a quarter of the costs of Mabib rolling out fibre to around 35,000 addresses in Brabant. Mabib plans to
