Brazil antitrust regulator takes 90 more days to consider Oi Movel sale

Thursday 28 October 2021 | 15:15 CET | News
Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) has requested more time to analyze the proposed takeover of Oi Movel by a consortium made up of its principle competitors, Vivo, TIM and Claro. The regulator said the complex case required additional diligence "to mitigate competition risks arising from the deal". If the request is approved by the Council's Court, the deadline for a decision would be February 2022 instead of 18 November 2021.
