Brazil court suspends 4G auction notice

Brazil's Audit Court (TCU) as suspended telecom regulator Anatel's notice on the 700 MHz band auction, citing "serious irregularities" in the proposal. The auction was expected to start in September. The TCU gave Anatel 15 days to provide more information and respond to questions, reports Bloomberg. It is then up to the TCU to decide whether to approve the auction. The delay could benefit operators, which had been pressing for a postoponement, as the 700 MHz band (currently used for analogue TV) will only be available from 2016.
