Brazil govt seeks alternative investors for Oi – report

The Brazilian government is seeking to attract new shareholders to vie for control of Oi, which is undergoing a judicial reorganization, reports Folha de Sao Paulo. To this end, it has hired consultants with international clout to seek new telecom operators and specialized communications funds interested in investing in Oi in the long-term. The aim is to find a solution for the company that would not be limited to investors currently in control of the company, which has a debt of more than BRL 65 billion. This option is necessary if the ongoing negotiations between Egyptian billionaire Naguib
