Brazil launches SGDC satellite

Brazil's Geostationary Defense and Strategic Communications Satellite (SGDC) has been successfully launched from the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana, reports Agencia Brasil. It is the first 100 percent Brazilian geostationary satellite for civil and military use exclusively dedicated to data transmission. The satellite will now take 10 days to arrive to its final orbit. The satellite is worth BRL 2.7 billion and will be operated by Telebras.
