Brazil plans to extend use of telecom signal blockers

Friday 26 November 2021 | 13:54 CET | News
The board of directors of Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has approved the launch of a public consultation to re-evaluate the regulation on telecom signal blockers. The existing legislation limits the use of such equipment to penitentiary establishments formally designated by the Ministry of Justice. The regulator's intention is to evaluate the use of jammers by other institutions, meeting the demands of several public security and national defence agencies.
