Brazil requires USD 20 billion to reach OECD average broadband penetration

Brazil will need to invest USD 20 billion to reach the average broadband penetration rate of OECD member countries, according to an estimate by the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Mauricio Claver-Carone, reports Valor Economico. He said that, taking into account Brazil's current capacity and resources, as well as the volume of companies in the sector, the country could generate around BRL 9 billion in GDP by 2024.
