Brazilian regulator grants prior consent for purchase of Copel by Bordeaux

Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has granted prior consent for the transfer of control of Copel Telecom's stock to Bordeaux Participacoes, owned by Brazilian businessman Nelson Tanure, reports Telesintese. The approval is valid for 180 days, if the same corporate conditions are maintained, and can be extended only once for the same period. In an auction held last November, the fund bought Copel Telecom for BRL 2.4 billion.
