Brein gets over 500 websites taken down in 2013

The Dutch anti-piracy group Brein said it had 510 websites taken down last year. This includes 280 cyber locker link sites, 118 bit torrent sites, 66 streaming sites, 38 usenet indexers, 10 cyber lockers and eight hard goods sites. Nearly all were operating anonymously and taken down after Brein contacted the hosting provider, the group said in its annual report. Only one site was blocked by ISPs following court action by Brein, the Pirate Bay, while another 206 proxies were also taken down. However, this block has since been reversed after an appeals court found that the ban on TPB was not
