Breko declines to take part in NRW gigabit agreement

Thursday 5 July 2018 | 16:47 CET | News
The German broadband association Breko said it declined to sign the joint agreement reached between the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), network operators and industry associations at the Gigabit.Summit NRW earlier this week. Breko said it will participate in the agreement, which aims to reach statewide gigabit internet access by 2025, because the agreement does not focus on "sustainable, pure fibre connections" and instead only mentions "convergent gigabit networks" and infrastructure like cable networks.
