Broadcom to launch low-cost chips for wearables, smartphones

Global semiconductor provider Broadcom has introduced a new range of low-cost combo chips for the advanced wearables and entry-level smartphone market. The BCM43430 chip family provide compact sizing, low-power consumption and support for A4WP Rezence wireless charging. The Single-band combo chip supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1/Bluetooth Smart, and FM radio receiver, with a flexible design to support low-cost printed circuit board (PCB) configurations for smartphones, tablets and wearables, and low-power consumption mode to extend battery life in wearables.
