Broadnet sees upside to Telenor threat over copper upgrade

Tuesday 2 August 2016 | 12:10 CET | News
Broadnet technology director Per Morten Torvildsen said in an article in Telecom Revy that there could be an upside to Telenor Norway's threat not to modernise its copper network unless the regulatory regime is overhauled. He said Broadnet itself and other alternative providers have considerable fibre networks in their regions, which they could use to deploy G.fast nodes to local street cabinets and distributors. This could be a better way to achieve the government's Digital Agenda and e-coms plans, he said.
