Brookfield to acquire Reliance Jio telecom tower, fiber assets - report

Private equity investor Brookfield Asset Management is in early talks to acquire a stake in Reliance Jio's telecom towers and fiber assets, valued at over USD 15 billion (approximately INR 10 million), Times of India reports, citing unnamed sources close to the matter. Jio recently announced it is spinning off tower and fiber into two separate entities. Jio currently has more than 220,000 towers, and 300,000 km of fiber optic infrastructure, serving a customer base of nearly 300 million.
