Brussels court dismisses appeal against temporary 5G licences

Friday 16 April 2021 | 15:52 CET | News
The Brussels Court of Appeal said that legal proceedings against the provisional 5G licenses awarded in July by regulator BIPT are inadmissible. The licenses for temporary access to the 3.5 GHz band were granted to Cegeka, Entropia, Orange, Proximus and Telenet. Some of the Entropia licenses have since been redistributed. The court ruled that BIPT is not the body that decides whether 5G will be introduced; it only supervises the distribution of spectrum.
