BT completes independent board at Openreach

Tuesday 14 February 2017 | 12:16 CET | News
BT announced a fourth member for the new independent board at its wholesale arm Openreach. Liz Benison will be a non-executive member. She comes from services provider Serco, where she is CEO UK & Europe, Local & Regional Government. Her appointment completes an independent majority on the board alongside Chairman Mike McTighe, Brendan Barber and Edward Astle. The new board is part of BT's efforts to respond to regulatory pressure to increase Openreach's independence, in order to ensure it offers equal services to both BT and alternative operators on the network.
