BT hit by more lawuits in the US, alleging securities fraud

A number of shareholder suits have been filed against BT Group in the US district courts of Manhattan (New York) and Newark (New Jersey), accusing the operator and three executives of securities fraud, Reuters reported. The two suits, filed on behalf of BT investors over the last few years, come amid an accounting scandal in Italy. Both were brought by individuals seeking class-action status, naming chief executive Gavin Patterson, his predecessor Ian Livingston, and finance director Tony Chanmugam as defendants and seeking unspecified damages. A spokeswoman for BT declined to comment on
