BT Ireland, Huawei test 400 Gbps service, launching in March

BT Ireland and Huawei have conducted the first 400 Gbps trial over a live network in Ireland or the UK, using a 200 km link between Dublin and Belfast. The trial shows the BT network's capability to meet future, next-generation demands. BT Ireland plans to offer 400 Gbps services to commercial network customers starting in March from both Dublin and Belfast. The trial was conducted by running 400 Gbps transmission through existing live 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps wavelengths, proving that BT's current core network has the capability to support this future, next generation transmission
