BT issues GBP 1 bln of shares to help fund EE purchase

BT has raised GBP 1 billion by selling 222 million new shares at GBP 4.55 each through JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs to partly fund its GBP 12.5 billion acquisition of EE. This price represents a 1 percent discount on the closing price of GBP 4.60 on 11 February. The new shares are expected to be admitted on 17 February and will raise the total number of shares issued by the company to 8.37 billion, 4 million of which are held as treasury shares.
