BT has launched a new software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) service for large organisations called BT Agile Connect. The service is based on technology from BT and Nuage Networks from Nokia, and uses BT's global network infrastructure. It is part of BT's Dynamic Network Services programme.
The service uses SDN on a national or global scale to determine the most effective route for traffic to take across a customer's WAN, giving organisations greater control and understanding of their infrastructure and traffic flows. BT Agile Connect includes a BT pre-built controller infrastructure hosted on the internet and on BT's MPLS network.
