BT launches mobile contracts with smartphones
BT has launched new postpaid mobile phone contracts with the latest phones from the big brands in a move to expand its presence in the consumer mobile market. The broadband operator launched Sim-only mobile services just over a year ago and has now entered the 'postpaid with handset' segment. 

BT Mobile has introduced three simple plans: Plan 1 offering 400 minutes, unlimited texts and 500 MB of data; Plan 2 for 1,000 minutes, unlimited texts and 2 GB of data; and Plan 3 with unlimited minutes, texts and 15 GB of data. Prices vary depending on the handset chosen. BT broadband homes benefit from a GBP 5 a month discount. 

Special offers are available until 07 July, including a Samsung Galaxy S6 from GBP 16 a month for the first 3 months, a saving of GBP 20 a month. In another deal, customers who buy a Samsung Galaxy A3 pay half price for the first 6 months, from GBP 10 a month. A GBP 15 a month saving on the Apple iPhone 6 brings the price down to GBP 21 a month for the first 3 months on the 16 GB version. 

BT will support the launch of its postpaid phone bundles with a nationwide advertising campaign on TV, cinema, radio, and posters, digital and social media.

BT has launched an upgraded version of its TV app for Apple and Android devices. BT Mobile deploys Openet Evolved Charging platform

BT has installed Openet's NFV-ready Evolved Charging platform to monetise its consumer mobile service. BT Mobile will use the Openet technology to drive fast time-to-market for its new MVNO service.
