BT looks to cut pension payouts

Tuesday 26 September 2017 | 11:18 CET | News
Members of BT's final salary pension scheme could see their payouts reduced as the company's looks to plug a deficit, reports the FT Adviser. The company is seeking a High Court ruling to switch the rate used to calculate pension increases from the Retail Prices Index (RPI) to the lower consumer prices index (CPI). The move would affect around 80,000 members who have left the company and are receiving a BTPS pension.
