BT must step up customer service, quality, coverage - Ofcom

Ofcom CEO Sharon White warned that consumers now look at BT and other broadband giants as "worse than banks," the Telegraph reported. White said BT has not invested enough into keeping its network up to date and is now "out of kilter" with public expectations because of its poor customer service. Giving evidence to the Commons culture select committee she said: "As a company, there has just not been sufficient focus on the customer and on quality of service." White and Ofcom chairman Patricia Hodgson said more must also be done to separate BT from Openreach, the unit which owns the pipes and
