BT pledges GBP 450-600 million spend to bring universal broadband to UK

All homes and businesses across the UK are set to benefit from universal high-speed broadband, the government announced, after BT offered voluntarily to offer the service across all parts of the UK, mainly delivered through Openreach. BT CEO Gavin Patterson said the proposals would involve an estimated investment of GBP 450-600 million, depending on the final technology solution.
