BT shareholder supports rights issue to buy mobile operator

One of BT's five biggest shareholders told the Telegraph that he would support a single-digit million pounds rights issue to fund the takeover of UK mobile operator EE or O2 UK. He said he would prefer for BT's shares to be as liquid as possible, adding that he would support also giving a partial equity stake to O2 owner Telefonica, if it would help with price negotiations. The unnamed shareholder said he spoke to BT management recently and that all options are on the table. Credit rating agency Moody's has said that a full-cash offer would contradict BT's aim to raise its rating from Baa2 to
