The arrival of a new CEO at BT could raise the chances of the UK operator opting for a full spin-off of its networks arm Openreach, according to BT shareholders who spoke with the Financial Times. While the company has given in to industry and regulator calls to make Openreach more independent, it remains a fully owned subsidiary within the group. Some shareholders said the new CEO should have the chance to look again at a full separation in order to create value for the group.
