BT shareholders vote in favour of EE acquisition

Friday 1 May 2015 | 10:15 CET | News
BT shareholders have overwhelmingly voted in favour of the company's GBP 12.5 billion planned acquisition of mobile operator EE from 50/50 shareholders Orange and Deutsche Telekom. The over 99.7 percent vote in favour was a foregone conclusion after BT sources confirmed that 99.55 percent of proxy form votes supported the merger. Deutsche Telekom and Orange will keep 12 and 4 percent stakes in the combined company, respectively, the latter taking GBP 3.4 million of cash as part payment. They intend to offer a single seamless, converged platform supported by a single IP network. ISPreview
