BT to cut half of remaining phone boxes over five years

BT plans to remove 20,000 of the UK's 40,000 remaining phone boxes over the next five years in response to falling usage, reports BBC News. The company said it was committed to operating a public payphone service but would continue to review and remove payphones which were no longer used.
