BTRC introduces registration for ISP subscribers

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has made it mandatory for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to register their clients' details before supplying them with a service, under a specific form designed by the commission, New Age reported. The BTRC said it had taken this step in order to prevent cybercrime. Under the registration process, users of any ISP will need to supply information about his or her occupation, a copy of their identity card, their present and permanent address, billing address, names of parents and spouse and name of a third party as an
