Californians vote for enforcement laws to Consumer Privacy Act

California voters have this week approved Proposition 24, which aims to close several loopholes in the California Consumer Privacy Act, which went into effect in January of this year, the Los Angeles Times reported. The act regulates how companies can collect personal information online. The new law behind Proposition 24, called the California Privacy Rights Act, will now make it easier, for example, for people to opt out of having their data collected or processed.
