Camtel, Equacomm to extend Wi-Fi coverage in Cameroon

Friday 20 January 2017 | 17:26 CET | News
Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel) has partnered with service provider Equacomm (Equatorial Communications) to extend Wi-Fi coverage in Cameroon, reports Agence Ecofin. Equacomm, which specialises in the provision of fixed wireless and satellite services in central Africa, said that Yaounde and Douala will be the first areas to benefit from Wi-Fi services. Camtel sees Wi-Fi as an important technology to bring broadband connectivity to public buildings and other key locations across the country, including selected universities, banks and the Yaounde-Nsimalen airport.
