Canada approves new telecom policy to boost competition

The Canadian government has published a new telecom policy, giving the regulator CRTC more power to take into account competition in order to improve the affordability of telecom services. The government said that prices Canadians pay for telecommunications services continue to be high when compared to other nations, and it's working to drive down prices by increasing competition and improve services by encouraging greater investments and innovation in telecommunications.
