Canadian law firm launches Samsung Note 7 class-action suit

The law firm McKenzie Lake Lawyers has filed a class action lawsuit in Canada on behalf of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners. The lawsuit follows the recall by Samsung of the smartphone following battery problems causing a fire and public safety risk. In October Samsung halted sales of the phone and offered to replace all devices already sold. Approximately 39,000 Note 7 devices were sold or distributed in Canada, according to the law firm. The claim alleges that Samsung was negligent as it knew or ought to have known that the way they produced, marketed, and sold the devices could result in harm
