Canal Digital loses customers, EBITDA down in Q2

The Nordic DTH service Canal Digital lost 5,000 customers in the second quarter, for a total 915,000 at the end of June. Its revenues were stable year-on-year at NOK 1.11 billion, but adjusted EBITDA fell to NOK 177 million from NOK 203 million due to a rise in customer acquisition costs. Parent company Telenor also reported lower revenues from satellite broadcasting in the quarter, mainly due to less TV distribution income, while its digital networks operator Norkring increased revenues, driven by the DAB roll-out in Norway.
