Canal+ in talks for partnership with Poland's TVN
ITI Holdings, the controlling shareholder in Polish broadcaster TVN, and TVN have agreed to enter into exclusive negotiations with Canal+ Group regarding the creation of a strategic partnership in Poland. The ITI Group founded TVN in 1995 and following its launch in 1997 has continued to promote TVN's successful development. TVN is a Polish commercial television broadcaster owning and operating ten television channels, the digital pay-TV platform "n" and Onet.pl, a Polish internet portal. Canal+ Group is also a major player in Poland through Canal+ Cyfrowy (Cyfra+), the second largest digital pay-TV platform with 1.5 million subscribers.

Polish broadcaster TVN, in cooperation with the company Netgear, has introduced devices enabling viewers to access wireless internet services over their satellite TV set-top boxes, reports Wirtualne Media. Canal Plus to buy 40% of TVN owner N-Vision

French group Canal+ announced a final agreement to acquire 40 percent in N-Vision from Polish holding company ITI for EUR 230 million. N-Vision is the parent company of Polish Television Holding, which owns 51 percent of the Polish broadcaster TVN Group. Under the terms of the deal, Canal+ and TVN will merge their Polish satellite pay-TV businesses, namely Cyfra+ and Platform 'n' in a joint venture. Polish digital platforms n and Cyfra+ to merge

ITI announced that its TV group TVN will merge its subsidiary ITI Neovision, owner of the digital TV platform n, with rival Cyfra+, part of the Canal+ group. TVN will receive a minority share in the merged company. The DTH TV provider created through the merger will have more than 2.5 million customers, making it a stronger competitor to market leader Cyfrowy Polsat. ITI considers sale of TVN stake

ITI Holdings, the controlling shareholder in Polish broadcaster TVN, is considering various options for a possible sale of its stake in TVN. ITI has not taken any decision yet related to the potential sale of its stake in the Polish broadcaster, so "there can be no certainty that a transaction will be forthcoming", TVN said.

Canal Plus Cyfrowy revenues up 7% to PLN 1.4 bln in 2010

Polish pay TV operator Canal Plus Cyfrowy saw its revenues grow 7 percent year-on-year to PLN 1.369 billion in 2010, maintaining its financial results' upward trend.
