Canal Plus and BeIN Sports settle dispute over rights payment with French football league

French football league LFP said that it has reached an agreement with Canal Plus and BeIN Sports over the issues raised by the two broadcasters over their payments due for football rights amid the ongoing Covid-19 disruption to the current Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 season. At the end of March, Canal Plus addressed a letter to the LFP that justified its decision to suspend a EUR 110 million instalment for its broadcasting rights, following the cancellation of all matches during the country's lockdown.
